STAFF REPORT
SARASOTA -–– Sarasota Memorial Hospital continues to administer tests for the COVID-19 coronavirus with nearly 700 tests being administered as of Thursday afternoon.
From those tests, 50 were positive, the same as Wednesday’s report, with another 99 tests still pending results.
Twenty-five patients remain hospitalized with the virus, down four from Wednesday. No new deaths have been reported, with the total remaining at five.
Of all patients who have been hospitalized for treatment, 28 have been discharged but are undergoing follow-up monitoring by the Florida Department of Health.
As of Thursday, one more hospital employee has tested positive for the virus, bringing the total to nine employees with positive test results. All nine are under self-quarantine and being monitored at home.
