SARASOTA — From a press release provided by the Sarasota Police Department:
James Sutton-Baines, 31, of 446 Shade Circle, Sarasota, has been arrested and is facing 40 counts of possession of child pornography. Additional charges are possible.
On March 20, 2020, Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department executed a search warrant at 446 Shade Circle, Sarasota, for child pornography. The search warrant was based from tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Tips included numerous images and videos of child pornography. Tips go back to 2018 when Sutton-Baines lived in Illinois. A local tip launched an investigation in March 2019.
A Sarasota Police forensic technician found more than 40 images on Sutton-Baines’ cell phone and detectives confirmed the images were child pornography. Detectives believe the local crimes were committed between August 2019 and January 2020. Sutton-Baines was arrested on Tuesday, March 23, 2020 and transported to the Sarasota County Jail where he’s being held on a $40,000 bond.
